Comfort Food by Kitty Thomas

What a snoozer! Neither character is compelling. The only thing of interest is the captor's refusal to speak. All his communication is non-verbal, which was initially intriguing to me. However, there's no development. I would expect a dark erotic story to take us places using this device but alas, no. It just bored the hell out of us.

Our heroine, God bless her, was broken IMMEDIATELY. Where's the fun in that? She collapsed like a house of cards at the first hint of discomfort. Her obstacle? She couldn't stand being alone? Sensory deprivation was a device of torture for her. Gimme a break.

The great irony? She's a (semi-famous) self-help author. I can't stop laughing.
