Twinkle, Twinkle, Daytime Star by Elizabeth Everett

5.0

Thank you to Science, Naturally! for sending me a forecast copy for review!

This was so cute. I couldn't help singing the rhymes in my head to the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. It kind of loses the cadence every once in a while but that's simply because I only know one verse of the original 5-verse song (which I didn't know until I looked it up for this review!). If I knew how the full song sounded, it probably wouldn't have felt that way.

As for the actual content, I think this is a great introductory to what the sun is and to astronomy in general. I like that it's a board book too and the illustrations are delightful. The suggested age level for this book is 2-7 and I agree that's appropriate, though I think even children older than that can appreciate the art despite feeling they may be "too old" for the nursery rhyming. It's really great that it's a board book, too, because I can see this book being read many many times.

Overall I enjoyed it! And I can absolutely see us using it for story time.
