January 2023. Dark crime/mafia MM romance novel, first in a series.
Seth, A 20-something heir to a mafia family who has chosen a life away from it all in America is kidnapped, tortured, ransomed back, and announced heir over his older brother by his mafia father, resulting in a target on his back and the anger of just about everyone in the mafia family.
Seth ends up paired with a rival from childhood ordered to train him as successor, who has little patience or respect for our main character’s soft lifestyle and lack of combat prowess or brutality.
This was dark and interesting, and I liked it quite a bit. I’ll definitely read more of the series. Read on Kindle Unlimited.
My main objection is honestly just an absurd number of steamy explicit scenes, generally speaking I find having those a plus if they are well-written, but I found myself wanting the plot to move forward quicker.
