I love Eden Finley's sports romances, but....
The characters in the book are members of an elite paramilitary group that closely resembles a small version of Blackwater, which was responsible for murders of 17 civilians in Iraq. And I did not see anything that would make me think these characters would not be willing participants in the torture and killing perpetrated by that contractor. I thought it might go somewhere interesting with LGBT rights in the military or even the Middle East but no. It's just... bad. There's an invented North African country, why? Ergh. Very regressive.
Romance, yes, (elite paramilitary) copaganda, no thanks.
