Crash & Burn by Lisa Gardner
4.0
This was my first Lisa Gardner and I was super impressed. I read a lot of thrillers but this one was actually different and kept me guessing right to the end. The beginning of the novel hooks you in immediately with the words, ‘I died once’. Straight away I had questions! What on earth is going on?
At the very start of the book, our main character, Nicky is involved in what should have been a fatal car accident. Not only does she survive but she tells police that her little girl, Vero, has gone missing. A search ensues before Nicky’s husband informs police that they have no children. How much of Nicky’s story is her own and how much is a result of traumatic brain injury? This is the question underpinning the whole story and every time I thought I’d worked it out, I was yet again, proved wrong.
An incredibly cleverly plotted and intriguingly told story. This definitely won’t be my last Lisa Gardner.
