Three Men in a Boat
by Jerome K. Jerome
Had me in stitches. At one point - the end of chapter 17 - I think I actually turned blue with laughter (I know that's not an idiom, but this book makes me wanna reinvent language). Delicious British humour, even for someone not entirely boating-savvy. Hilarity aside, Three Men in a Boat struck me as the kind of book that hides its seriousness behind a curtain of comical aspects. Every story has a deeper meaning and sheds new light not only on the characters, but also on canine and human nature in general.
Absolutely fantastic book. I'm seriously wondering why I wasted a quarter of a century not grabbing it from the library sooner.
