It took me a really long time to finish this book because I was never really in the mood to read it. The more I think about it, the more I think it's stupid. However, when I was sitting down, reading it, I mostly enjoyed my time. Everything is really fast-paced and the narration is usually good. The best part by far is the beginning, before the Institute. I was so excited to explore this world only to have the rug pulled out from under me. The rest of the series will probably focus more on the world, which is why I will continue on.

To continue with the bad stuff, I wanna bring up the amount of rape in this book is astronomical. It was so intense all the time and the purpose was very unclear most of the time. The importance brought to slavery was also a bit weird. Final thing, i find the "Roman thing" to be quite tacky and cheap.
