I was really dragging myself through this very old fashion perspective on love and relationships book. This was terrible. Why was it painted in a way where aliens are our metaphors and we are excused for some ridiculous stunted emotional behaviors ? This was written by a man, and as a man myself it really felt like this book was placing a burden of emotional labor on women for the most part. Explaining how we need time to be in our caves because of a certain way we feel and that women have to deal with it. There was even a part during the middle of the book where it tries turning the beautiful thing that love and intimacy is to a mathematical scoreboard, this was so robotic and shallow. There is no system to where we can quantify love in a relationship, that is why love is magic. The book started off strong and I did have some insights that felt relatable to me but the bad takes were too strong for my persuasion to carry out into the real world.
