The Crossing Places
by Elly Griffiths
This had an atmospheric feel like "Broadchurch" and I loved diving back into an English mystery/crime series! The writing isn't particularly inspired, the characters are a bit flat (besides Ruth, though she seems stereotypical...also 39 isn't that old???), nor was the mystery very difficult to solve (thought the wrapping up happened weirdly...like the author wasn't sure how to write herself out of the mystery she had written), but it was a very fun read and I'm looking forward to reading more in the series. I'm interested to see how the author progressed throughout the series.
