This book was sooooo slow. I kept zoning out when reading because it felt like the pace was never picking up. There were a lot of aspects of the book that I didn’t feel were necessary (I.e. the dogs, her nightmares/lucid dreams, her past, the POV from the kidnapper/murderer, etc.) The plot for this book is interesting but I feel like the story was way too drawn out. I know this is a duology & those “extra” elements might come into play in the second book but it felt so unnecessary to this book that I wouldn’t really be interested in reading the second book.
