The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman

5.0

I was very pleasantly surprised by this book. I have the rest of the books in this series on my book shelf ready to go at some point later and I can’t wait after reading this first one.

This was a very nice mixture of old fashioned murder mystery and modern day conventions with elderly characters that are brilliantly written as crafty and clever and endearing. Even most of the secondary characters/suspects/red herrings are interesting and intriguing as well. The mysteries were excellently planned and executed with surprising twists and poignant revelations. I also enjoyed the awesome British wit and humor thrown in throughout that made the story so much more delightful.

A definite 5 star read and very highly recommended.
