rip elizabeth zott, you would've loved the barbie movie

this book is one hell of a ride when it comes to the emotions you’ll feel. i laughed, i cried (a lot), i was angry and exasperated- i could go on. the main character, elizabeth, was so unlikeable but in a way that you just can’t help but love her. calvin and her are SO sweet nothing by taylor swift coded, they made my heart so warm (and also shattered it). six thirty, their dog, was constantly so entertaining, although i’ll be honest, if i was watching this as a movie, i would hate the dog having human-level awareness and intelligence BUT the author executed it in a genuinely enjoyable manner. i also loved mad, she was the perfect blend of being her mother’s daughter (a.k.a genius gifted child at age 4???) and also being empathetic beyond her years.

everything about this book was just so good, and to think that this is a debut novel is crazy! i will say that i don’t know if its as funny as the little quotes on the cover make it out to be (although it is funny at times), but rest assured that you’ll be feeling INTENSE emotions throughout your entire reading process. i know i did.
