Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret
by Judy Blume
I liked this book, I enjoyed it. But upon reflection after I finished it, I had a few problems with it. For one thing it never tied up what I considered to be a loose thread with the project. Another thing I would’ve liked to have seen was another scene with Laura. I did like that it evened it out a bit with Margaret’s grandmother pushing her to be Jewish just as much as the other side of the family. I’m glad that it showed her parents actually had a reason for limiting their time together. I wish it pushed more anti-gossip. To me it came across more as don’t say it to their face rather than don’t talk bad about someone at all. Overall I enjoyed this book. It was quick and fun, i just think it had a lot of potential to teach valuable lessons that even adults could benefit from that simply weren’t taken advantage of. Another thing I just thought of- I wish Margaret had realized that she didn’t need to “grow” that she was perfectly fine as she was and that it would come in its own time. Sorry if this is hard to understand I’m just rambling.
