Legend by Marie Lu
5.0
Hello awesome. From the opening pages I was taken into Lu's dystopic universe where the US is ancient history and though some of the names remain the same, the fight rages between the Republic and the Patriots. And though this fight is always in the background the story is that of two young teens, alike in nearly every way expect that one was born a boy and in the poor districts and the other a girl living in the rich part of town.
As their relationship develops and the mysteries surrounding the truth of the war effort come to light, the two find friendship and a bond that brigns them together to fight - whether to fight the Republic or the Patriots remains to be seen as I doubt one will be better than the other. Guess we'll have to wait for book 2 to find out.
