Schindler's List by Thomas Keneally
4.0
“Whoever saves one life, saves the world entire.”
I've never seen the movie that was based on this book, but I've heard many things about it over the years. I've been on a huge historical fiction reading kick lately and found this through the library, so decided to give it a listen.
It's amazing to me the things that people, no matter how flawed, do to help others when they can. Schindler, based on what was presented here and the little additional reading I've done about him, had many flaws, but he still saved over a thousand people when they were on the cusp of being slaughtered, because he could. He fought when others might have given up and that is admirable.
Audio note - this was read by Ben Kingsley, whose narration was excellent.
