Working in Public: The Making and Maintenance of Open Source Software by Nadia Eghbal

3.0

A fun overview of open source development--lots of good reminders of where GitHub started and where it is today. Some interesting reflections, but not a lot of new thinking or good ideas--just descriptions of the challenges and general quotes on where some people are thinking of going, but the book lacks a theme or some kind of guiding principle on what is the best long term plan. Basically, this could have used an IA review for authorial tone--with a vision one could agree or disagree and the conversation would be helpful. As it is, this is more a reflection on the things we all remember.
