⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
A missing girl, multiple murders, & a labyrinth of clues. Where the cops are three steps behind the killer who knows everything about everyone. The only connection? A juvenile craft. A chestnut man.
The book starts off a bit slow, and I found myself struggling to stay engaged in the beginning. The twists came fast and hard, and from that point on, I couldn’t put it down. Every chapter ended with a new piece of the puzzle or a revelation that had me flipping pages long past bedtime.
I’ll admit, I did get some of the characters mixed up early on — I’m not used to foreign (to me) Danish names, and there were quite a few people to keep track of. But the writing and pacing made it worth sticking with.
