Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, almost to a tee, except video games.
… I know that’s a bit reductive and I think the author deserves a more thorough review, but this book prides itself so much in being “a love story you haven’t read before” but it absolutely is.
Some techniques are really intriguing but it just didn’t make up for what I disliked in this novel.
But not everyone can complete such an ambitious novel anyway, so Zevin deserves praise for that.
