I was so excited to read Landen’s book after seeing more of him in "Stay With Me" as one of Magnolia’s best friends because I knew he was going to be adorable and hilarious, and I was right. But, I also felt so bad for Landen because all he ever wanted was Ellie Donovan’s heart and she was keeping that locked up tight and was willing to be vicious to Landen to keep it that way. That is until the day she hit her head and couldn’t remember hating him…

Landen Hollis has wanted Ellie Donovan since the day they met 4 years ago, but unfortunately for him, Ellie has wanted nothing to do with him. In fact, she’s hated him for the past 11 years–not that she’ll tell him about that or why she hates him. That doesn’t stop Landen from wanting her, though, and trying to make his way past her defenses. He loves pushing Ellie’s buttons because, as far as he’s concerned, any attention from her is better than none, even if she’s tearing him a new one. One day, Ellie’s barrel racing career comes to a screeching halt when she falls off her horse, hits her head, and ends up with a concussion and amnesia! But, she’s pleasantly surprised when she wakes up to a sexy, blue-eyed cowboy looking at her like she’s his dream girl. However, Landen is shocked when Ellie wakes up and is nice to him because she has no memory of him and that she hates him. He tells her that they shouldn’t get close to each other because it’s only a matter of time before Ellie gets her memory back and realizes she hates him and he doesn’t want her to regret anything when that happens. But, Ellie is determined to get to know the man who she finds out has only ever been kind to her despite how mean she was to him for years. As they get to know each other more when Ellie’s memories aren’t coming back, they get closer and closer and open up to each other more and more. As Ellie’s memories start to resurface, will things still work out between them, or will Ellie end up breaking Landen’s heart because she suddenly remembers why she hated him in the first place?

I really enjoyed this book, even though I felt so bad for Landen because of how much he wanted Ellie and how mean she was to him. It was interesting seeing it from Ellie’s perspective though because she really tried hard not to like Landen. So, when she lost her memories, it was interesting to see all of her attraction to Landen bubble to the surface when it wasn’t suppressed by her hatred. I did appreciate that, even though she lost her memories of hating Landen, that didn’t mean that Ellie became a completely different person–she was still sassy with him, but in a less harsh way than she had been before. All of that was okay with Landen though because he loved that Ellie had some sass in her and wouldn’t have wanted her to lose that either. Landen may be the funny, happy-go-lucky brother, but don’t think that means he didn’t have a filthy mouth because he certainly did! 😏 And the cowboy hat scene?! 🥵

I loved this story so much! Landen made me laugh and smile so many times and I loved how strong and sassy Ellie was. I loved how much they supported each other even when Ellie hated Landen, but even more when she didn’t hate him! This was a great next book in the series, but I can’t wait to see what happens next in Waylon’s story!

Quotes I Loved:

"If you keep being mean to me, I'm gonna end up fallin' in love with you." -Landen [it's giving ALL the Nick Miller energy and I'm here for it!]

"With his de-lulu brain, he'd probably think me trying to murder him was foreplay." -Ellie

Thank you, Brooke and Love Notes PR, for providing me with an ARC!
