Well, I'm not sure how I feel about this book or the ending of the series in general. There are conflicting feelings and thoughts, things I enjoyed and others I hated, and I'm trying to sort through it all.
At some point in the last quarter of the third book, things started to go in directions I didn't enjoy and since then it was ups and downs and now here we are at the end and I wish I could say it was a case of sticking the landing alas the truth is that it was more 50/50 some things were not it kind of thing instead. So many things fell flat, there was the intention of emotions behind but I couldn't feel it, inconsistencies and "fix-it let's roll outta nowhere" kind of solutions, sometimes it seemed that the characters were going through a lot and nothing, all at once.
One of the positives is that the characters were still pretty solid and it was my caring about them that pushed me through. But I feel that, ironically, there was not enough time to develop things.
A shame, this last book could have been so much more. Still enjoyable but I would be lying if I ignored my disappointment.
