The Master Magician by Charlie N. Holmberg

2.0

This series had the potential to be very good, and instead it was just okay. I personally do not really enjoy an uncritical retrograde perspective on women (men can't cook, main character is "good" because she doesn't show her ankles, she enjoys acting as a maid) and the focus on the romance really weakened the series for me, as there was no real tension to it.

There are interesting ideas, but they aren't expanded on and they seem to go nowhere. Ceony is an f'ing idiot and I did not feel at all sorry for her.

But it was entertaining enough as fluffy vacation read, and it certainly did not take more than a couple hours to read.
