The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas

this book was such a great addition to the series cuz it really filled in all the gaps. there is huge debate on when this book should be read as it’s a prequel. people say to either read it 3rd or 4th but i actually read it 7th before the final and found it a really cool spot dive deeper into some of the stories. by reading it seventh, you already know all of the characters in the novellas so you don’t get confused as yo why you are reading so much about these random stories. this could definitely be read at any point or even in tandem with the introductions of the characters. i 100% wouldn’t read it as the first book in the series though. you need the character development of at least the first two books, as well as some of the context, to even be remotely engaged. overall a great read and it was fun to jump back in time before the final book
