  • the premise: incredibly cool
  • the execution: horrendous. if you gave this book to me, and told me it was sent into a competition by an edgy 15 year old, i would believe you.

this book was incredibly disappointing. the characters were diverse and fun, the premise - a guy helping others commit suicide - is cool and original, but the execution falls flat and feels like the author is trying entirely too hard.

if you want to give kim young-ha's writing another chance (or if you liked this book), i can recommend his short story Whatever Happened to the Guy Stuck in the Elevator? it's tonally different, but an absolute blast.
