Toe to Toe was the Step Up/Magic Mike/ Ballet mashup contemporary romance I did know I needed!

Allegra is a ballerina who has trained her whole life and sees becoming principal of a show to be the marker of success.

The ballet director said she isn't 'sexy' enough to be the principal of the next show, so when Allegra sees the male performers at a show for her sister's bachelorette night, she asks the lead/choreographer/business owner, Cord to train her.

The chemistry between Allegra and Cord is electric, and I absolutely loved seeing their romance develop throughout the story.

Some of the major issues associated with ballet and dance as a whole, such as sexual harassment and body image issues, are highlighted throughout the novel, but were not always addressed in the most head on way. Many instances of harassment by the director throughout are more dismissed in the moment, although there is discussion and follow up afterwards. There is a lot of discussion of body image and eating habits throughout that aren't unusual for dancers and is often the mindset performers have, but they are not talked about as problems, just realities of dance.

Thank you for the ARC; all opinions are my own.
