I picked up “The Love Hypothesis” after a heavier read to avoid a slump, and it served its purpose well. Adapted from a Wattpad/fan fiction novel, my expectations were initially low. Despite hearing good things about Ali Hazelwood’s novels and seeing this title prominently in bookstores, I found the book to be filled with repetitive language and a plot that fell flat. Its predictability and lack of a compelling hook made it challenging for me to stay engaged and motivated to finish.

Overall, it was a breezy read with a different setting in stem. The novel achieved its goal (I can imagine it being a nice beach read), the writing was not the worst I’ve encountered, but the book overall was fairly mediocre without anything particularly standout.
