I loved the pacing of this books - I wanted a nice quick read and this exactly fit the bill. It seems the perfect book to have in the school library; a frank depiction of what it looks like to be an immigrant in Ireland, but with moments of levity and lightness. I thought some aspects / throw away lines felt like they'd been a bigger part of a former draft, and therefore didn't land quite as well in this final one, but as a piece of middle grade / YA fiction, I thought it was excellent.
