exopolit 's review for:
River of Stars
by Guy Gavriel Kay
While not as evocative as the 9th dynasty prequel, Kay's 12th dynasty tale retains a tighter story line all the way to the end, and leaves fewer loose ends. My only criticism is the continued use of detracting asides along the lines of: 'but in the world all good things come to an end, as we shall see' (there is probably a literary term for this, but I'm not an English Major).
