Fallout by Ellen Hopkins

Of the Crank series, I would say this is by far the best. It shows how drugs affect not only the drug user, but also anyone who remotely cares about said user. In this book's case, Kristina Snow's children.

In particular this book gives the perspective of Kristina's three eldest children, Hunter, Autumn, and Summer. All of whom live in different homes, each with their own set of demons and fears. It's interesting to see how each fear blossoms into a full-blown monster of its own, holding back the characters from things they wish to accomplish and leaving them with two beasts to slay instead of the one initial demon.

Brilliant book that strikes truth in multiple ways. If you haven't read the first two books, Crank and Glass, I would definitely recommend reading them beforehand; this is the third and final book in the trilogy and ties into the other books and their respective characters neatly.
