The charm of T. Kingfisher's writing and the returning characters from book 1 carries this novella. It was really nice to see Easton, Angus, Miss Potter, and Hob again, and watching their personalities bounce off of each other gave me some cozy nostalgia feelings. The plot and the new characters are a bit less memorable than from book 1, with the horrors being much more creeping and psychological. I'm left questioning whether any of it was real or not. Fun little read!
