After reading the authors interview at the end of the book, I think the idea of it all is genius. Portraying girls as wild and somewhat ugly, imperfect and selfish is interesting and necessary.
Overall I was missing the depth of the characters especially and I feel like it would have suited the story more to make a slower paced novel or a series with multiple books.
I was trying to understand the three main characters but a lot of things were just mentioned and then dropped for example byatts history of making up stories
I couldn’t really understand the persons they really were at the core and even though I enjoyed the wlw representation, it just fell short and wasn’t really fitting into the storyline. A good book that could have been amazing with a little more time!
