Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

3.0

"Clockwork Angel" gets a 3 out of 5 stars from me. The reason I gave it 3 out of 5 stars is because I'm honestly sick and tired of these characters who act like assholes because something traumatic happened to them in the past. I don't care what happened to you, you have no right acting like an asshole or semi-heartless toward anyone. I hate when people use past crap as crutches in life. GET A GRIP, GET A LIFE, AND GET OVER IT.(- Alyssa Edwards) People told me "You'll understand why Will acts that way, he has a reason." So it's okay for someone to act like they couldn't give two fucks about anyone just because their parents died or something ugly happened to them in the past? FUCK THAT. If you think that is okay you are mental. I don't like Will and I know that I won't like him after the last book.

There's a part in this book where Will is talking about Nate and Tessa in an ugly way while Tessa is listening from the other side of the door and I was just like "If this bitch doesn't walk into that room and smack that fucker in the face I'm done." I was eagerly waiting for Tessa to walk and in and give Will a pop in the face.

I don't think Tessa should end up with Jem or Will, but if I had to say who I predict she'll end up with I'd say Will because they suit each other. Tessa's a weak character and she deserves dickhead Will. At least when Jace acted like an ass, it was tolerable. The only character I like is Jem and I'd like to know more about him. And what saved this from getting 2 stars was Magnus fucking Bane.

I thought the story line was good, it wasn't entirely original but I liked the era it took place in. And I love Cassandra Clare's writing. I'm sad that I didn't enjoy this as much as I enjoyed books 1-5 of TMI but that is how it is. I want more of Jem and that is the only reason I will read the last two books in the ID trilogy.

Also please don't tell me how I will like Will better in the rest of the books. I didn't like Simon in City of Bones and after the fifth book I still don't like him. I don't like Will now, and I won't like him in the second or third book. I don't like Tessa either, she's got no backbone and there's just something about her I don't like.

**I'm not sure I'm going to finish this trilogy just yet. I have Clockwork Prince and Princess from the library but they are due next week and they are on hold for other readers. I KNOW I will not finish both of those books by next week so I might have to pick them up again when they are available.
