Shattered Illusions by Laura Greenwood

2.5

Ok.... so this book annoyed me - a lot. The concept was great, yet the narration was painful, though I will say there were humorous moments. (Which is why I ranked it 2.5) Mainly, it has to do with the voice of the character - composed in first person POV (which works in many cases), it came across as one long, rambling conversation with very little world building or content crafting. Her thoughts were also a confused jumble that jumped from point to point - which, admittedly, is kind of normal for a human brain, but it doesn’t translate well on the page.

A vampire hunter who gets turned into a vampire and learns her entire life has been a lie.... great plot! Bad execution. 😔
