I had a really hard time deciding on a rating for this one. I think for me any thriller I'm going to speed through because I do want to know what happens but this one was more of a slow burn than I would have liked. The characters were fine and I do love a morally gray character however the negative qualities of these overshadowed the positive ones, I felt.
I was a little confused at first at the way the "mystery character" was brought in and that could have been on me for not paying attention but once I realized what we were doing it seemed pretty obvious what the twist would be. I enjoyed reading it and following the mystery but it fell a little flat at times and then at other times would get really dark almost out of nowhere.
Overall, if you like thrillers it's a good easy read but it definitely wasn't one of my favorites and didn't make me feel too much for any of the characters in particular.
