Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing by Matthew Perry
emotional
reflective
medium-paced
Graphic: Alcoholism, Drug abuse, and Addiction
Moderate: Misogyny
Ouch, this was a tough listen. Matthew Perry, at times slurring and occasionally repeating lines, seems to bare his soul and show an authenticity and vulnerability that made me mourn him and feel great sorrow for those that loved him. He was undeniably talented and I enjoyed hearing his pride in that. Overall, this book made my heart break for anyone living with addiction. Perry had it all and still couldn’t survive this awful aspect of life.
