The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury
5.0
Ray Bradbury's fiction never ceases to amaze me. I need to state again how much of an inspiration he has been for me as a person and as a novice writer. Through his sci-fi and dystopian tales, I realized how much I like this genre and how much I'd love to write my own science-fiction and fantasy stories. "The Illustrated Man" is an original collection of short stories, emerging from the tattooed skin of the unknown man. It's a collection which talks about humble feelings such as love, family peace and sadness as well as philosophical and ethical issues, such as the limits of science and the point of life. These are myths and tales of the past, the present and the future, of alternative realities and different universes; stories of me and you and the Earth and our Solar System and the world around us.
Why should anyone read this book? Because it's full of emotions, questions that will never have answers, answers that will never satisfy us and realities that will always thrill us. Bradbury did it again:"The Illustrated Man" is a mesmerizingly written novel about the human race, its strivings and its collective fears.
