The Sweetest Remedy by Jane Igharo

5.0

The Sweetest Remedy is the story of Hannah Bailey who has only met her father once. Upon news of his death, she travels to Nigeria for the funeral and to meet the family she has never known.

A tale that merges cultures and a dialogue on identity with a twist of just the amount of romance. Learning about her father through her siblings, Hannah realizes parts of herself were missing. The characters are rich and the Nigerian culture is highlighted in both the affluent Jolades and the slums of Nigeria.

This book is a quick read (it didn't even take me three days) and is cheerful, despite the characters being brought together by a funeral. Loved it! How long before Jane Igharo's next book?!
