I would never dissuade people from reading this book, especially if you are unfamiliar with the rise of Stalin and more broadly the Soviet Union. However, as someone who is familiar with the topic, I feel as if this book didn't have much to say. I think it does a great job at showing how revolutions are often co-oped by people whose only goal is to gain and maintain power. Napoleon is a great Stalin stand in. I love the choice for him not to be very present in the book. It creates the air of secrecy and constant wondering that an average citizen in Soviet Russia may have felt. Definitely read it if you haven't, but I'm not sure if it's worth a re-read
