realistically and objectively a four star but i was so completely charmed by this. it will definitely not work for everyone and it is admittedly 98% character development and 2% of the fantasy plot you're sold on the tin but it was soooo intensely Made For Me. very obvious roy/riza fanficness of it all aside i really enjoyed both the main characters in this (a rarity for me in both YA and het books) and really enjoyed the unique setting/time saft chose to place this in. there are some INSANE pacing choices and i think the last few chapters happened too quickly and tied things up too neatly but i had fun!! rlly recommend picking it up on audio bc the narrator does suchhhh a good job with character voices.
