Twice in a Blue Moon by Christina Lauren

3.0

3-1/2 Stars

First off, I have to say that I love Christina Lauren’s books. They are exactly what I am looking for in a contemporary romance. So even their books that aren’t my favorite, I find compulsively readable.

I was initially drawn in to the story of Tate and Sam who meet on vacation in London. Tate shares the well-kept secret that she is the daughter of a very famous actor (think Brad Pitt levels of famous) and then is devastated when Sam betrays her to the media and vanishes. Fast forward 13 years later and Tate and Sam meet again on the set of a film where Tate, now a famous actress herself, is starring in a career-changing role in her first film with her father.

I liked Tate and Sam as characters and really enjoyed the first part of their romance. I did think their reconciliation needed a little something more for me. And I found Tate’s relationship with her father incredibly frustrating (though fairly realistic given the egos involved). Plus there is a host of lovable side characters and the film set location was a fun way to stick all the characters in one spot where they can’t leave and are forced to interact.

Not my favorite of Lauren’s but still a fun, light-hearted romance which is pretty much all I ask of their books.
