Peace Talks by Jim Butcher

5.0

Not going to lie; this was a little frustrating. I went into this book prepared for the worst, having seen the theatrical trailer for it months before the release. Thomas Raith is easily my favorite character in the series (tied with or above Harry, I haven't decided) and I am always worried about where he might end up. But Peace Talks ends on a cliffhanger, pushing my anxiety on into Battle Ground. I take comfort in the knowledge Butcher has effectively only killed a small handful of integral characters in sixteen books but I'm still biting my nails in anticipation for the events of Battle Ground.

But, as you see, I still gave it five stars because, after all, I can't fault Butcher for following the anguished cries of his readers like a child playing Marco Polo in the hot summer sun. The man's gotta eat, right?
