Dense worldbuilding and dense writing, combined with a light plot and a pov character frequently veering off into lengthy thought tangents. I stayed interested in the plot but it felt like I was constantly running into roadblocks with the narration. I think a quarter or third of it could have been taken out without changing the vibe or losing any info. Might be a great read for T. Kingfisher fans that like the narration style but want a denser/longer read.
