I’m giving this 4 stars because I think I would’ve DNF’d it if I hadn’t done the tandem read and if it weren’t for Nesryn. Not because it’s not written well or the story isn’t good. Chaol was just a lil twat for so long and idk if he deserves this redemption arc. We will see how I feel after KoA.
THAT SAID, I didn’t hate him & I found myself mad that I didn’t hate him. The story telling in this, especially with the tandem read, added such and interesting layer to the story. I see that Ms SJM loves to make me HATE a character and then be like “shit…. I get it….” (Looking at you Nesta)
