Well, I did not love this. It was kind of terrible but I do believe it is because I hate horror.
I did not love the writing as much as some people seemed to have had to.
I think I get overarching themes of misogyny and familial obligation. The lack of autonomy. We almost never hear from Yeong-hye in a story about her body.
I might need to read more on it, but every man took advantage of Yeong-hye at some point and it left her sister with the fallout of those actions. I really felt for In-hye and the ways in which her world unraveled.
I get wanting to become a tree but no.
