The fact that Jane Austen was writing about situationships that ghost you and then pretend to have never had feelings for you in the 1800s is insane. Willoughby is a coward and will forever be haunted by Marianne. I love that she found a REAL man. The love plots in this book isn’t as profound as in her other books but it’s a good read.
Edit: my rating went up .5 points after watching the movie with Kate winslet, it portrays the emotional roller coaster so perfectly. I love the haunting, “you won’t forget me” vibes and the “I found a better man, because you couldn’t be a better man” and I love Emma Thompson, Ellinor breaking into tears when Edward admits his love ❤️
