The Sanatorium is a thriller set in an isolated hotel in the Swiss Alps. The story follows Elin Warner, a British police officer, who visits the hotel with her brother Isaac and his fiancée Laure. Strange events unfold as Laure goes missing and a storm traps the guests in the hotel. Elin must rely on her instincts and detective skills to uncover the truth and find Laure.

Throughout the book, there are multiple murders, mysterious disappearances, and a sense of impending danger. The hotel, which was once a sanatorium, adds to the eerie atmosphere of the story. The author does a great job of creating tension and keeping the reader guessing.

As Elin investigates, she uncovers secrets and suspects within the hotel. There are twists and turns that keep the plot engaging and unpredictable. The author delves into the history of the sanatorium and its dark past, adding depth to the story.

In the end, the identity of the killer is revealed. The culprit's motive stems from a traumatic event in that person's past. The reveal of the killer's identity and motive maybe divisiveas some may find it far-fetched or unexpected.

The book ends with an intriguing epilogue, where an unknown person follows Elin and Will as they leave the hotel. This sets the stage for a sequel, where Elin will continue her investigations and potentially uncover the identity of the person following her.

Overall, The Sanatorium is a thrilling and atmospheric read, with a well-paced plot and intriguing characters. While some aspects of the story may be divisive, it keeps readers engaged until the very end.
