The Big Four by Agatha Christie
2.0
What a baffling experience! This was a bizarre fever dream of James Bond-esque supervillains with confusingly vague world-domination motives, way too many elaborate disguises, way too much casually racist language, and way too little cohesion. I think Agatha Christie does her best work and has her keenest insights about human nature when working close to home, in microcosm - a group of old friends, a small and sleepy village, a dysfunctional family. Not when she’s trying to work with … whatever this was!
