This is a wonderful story of two sort of unlikely friends growing up in the religious neighborhoods of Brooklyn. I'll be honest, I'm not a gung-ho Jewish lit reader, but this book was recommended to me by a good friend and I'm so happy I read it. The struggles the main characters go through transcend judaism and apply to everyone that wants to a take the path that is not expected of him/her. I can't wait to read the sequel!
