The Madness Underneath by Maureen Johnson
4.0

This is very obviously a sequel, but that's fine. I read this in large chunks and came out on the other side teary faced and with an urge to smack Maureen Johnson repeatedly with my copy (though I wouldn't because it might break and I've already stuck my signed bookplatestickerthingy from the pre-order in it). I would have liked more madness underneath though. That was a sort of side-plot that might have done well being a bit more developed, but otherwise I loved this novel.

I loved it. Really.
I can spot a doomed character a mile away, also a kiss of death/doom. I saw it coming, yet I didn't. I knew it, but I hoped it wouldn't end that way, but it did. Poor everyone. I really want the next one now, and I'm curious how that will go. Part of me wonders if Rory will turn evil, and you know, kill people, because I would probably turn murderous from that experience. Vengeance is a favorite theme of mine, so yay! Also exited to learn more about Rory and her ability to exterminate ghosts.
