Very very slight spoiler warning, nothing you wouldn't know by reading the blurbs and previous books. No spoilers for this book!
This book was on my DNF list for forever. Why? Well, I have a problem. I get invested (capital letters with a ton of exclamation marks) into the characters, their lives and the outcome of these stories, the problems of an empath, but I digress. This series is the first where a couple broke up and I was quite mad ad the author for doing that to me. I was invested!! One of my best friends loves this series, though, and I really wanted to give this another go, because up until that point, so had I. My previous attempts to get back into the series was to start over with Book 1. This time I went straight to Book 5 where I left off and started reading.
That worked pretty well! I was able to appreciate the book outside of the romantic subplot and for the genius it is when it comes to world-building. It still had some stumbling blocks, but overall, I am really happy that I read it and will continue the series (in between Popsugar reads lol).
