One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston

I liked Red, White & Royal Blue (however I did have problems with it), so I had fairly high expectations. This was definitely better than I expected. It was slow in the first few chapters, but once it got going it was better. I liked all of the main characters, especially Jane. Oh to wear her leather jacket and listen to old music. But anyway, the romance was cute and all of the characters added something to the story which I loved. I didn't like that the chapters were a bit long (I prefer shorter ones) and I definitely didn't like something August says to Jane about homophobes and racists in the 21st century. I agree that's it's better than it was in the past, but people are still actively homophobic and racist and I don't think that's something we can ignore.
